120g (4 oz) ketchup
2 tablespoons dark brown soft sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 dash hot sauce, such as Tabasco
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
In a small saucepan over medium heat, stir together the ketchup, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, hot sauce, garlic, mustard powder and salt. Bring to a simmer, then remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before brushing on your favourite barbecued meats.
I add this to chicken drumsticks. Just brush the chicken all over with the sauce, then pour what's left over the chicken. Cook either on the BBQ or in the oven at 170 fan 180 otherwise for about 1 hour, turning over half way through.
